What do you mean by intellectual property right?  Patent, Copyright,
Trademarks or other such law?  The GPL only deals with copyright.  One
should avoid intellectual property term in such discussions as its
vagueness can be misleading.

One need not even be so philosophical.  Do you teach your child to horde
the toys?  I mean you should. As if your child horde's them then there is
less wear and tear on them.  So when they grow up and hand them down to
the less fortunate, the less fortuante have better quality toys.  It makes
sense right? (Yes Im being a smart arse)
