Just to be safe, I still create a /boot partition on hda1 that is about 23
MB for the boot partition.
I've never experienced any problems doing this. If using Mandrake, I make
the other partitions ReiserFS.

hmmm... I thought the Lilo high memory problem was fixed a year or two
ago and is no longer an issue?  I typically boot images that are *way
out* of the old 2GB limit.
