FreeBSD 2. Linux I have had Linux firewall before using IP-chains. I have never played with the IP-tables. Currently I have a OpenBSD firewall which is using ipf but it seems that the OpenBSD people are moving away from current implementation so I do not think I will want to keep the system. Another problem with OpenBSD is that I have tried to install a patch that allows for ipsec (Nortel) forwarding and I could not get it to work. I was told that the patch works pretty good with FreeBSD. I have also heard that there is support to forward ipsec transport in Linux so the choice is between those two.
