Tom, My Experience with e-Smith is limited to what I had on my personal network. Although it is probably secure enough, I am still weary of a firewall box I setup also being used as a file server (that could hold sensitive data), which means that I cannot tell you of any experiences in that sense. I really liked e-Smith because it is in my mind the only distro that I have come across that has done so well with the goal of being a small/medium size business server. It's ease of administration means that anyone with a general idea of the network layout and user needs can manage the box. Good luck but Im sure you won't need it with e-Smith. I'm ready to put in a dedicated gateway/firewall box and move everything else to a private intranet and was wondering if this is decent or would something else be better. ________________________________________________ See http://PLUG.phoenix.az.us/navigator-mail.shtml if your mail doesn't post to the list quickly and you use Netscape to write mail.
