Title 17 United States Code (Copyright Law) allows fair use,
like you say.  Have you ever tried to copy a DVD through
a VCR?  It plays fine, but when you hit the record button,
whamo! Macrovision kicks in and your copy is worthless.

So the USC says I can copy, but Hollywood says I can't.
