Hi, Lynn-

I'm probably being naive, but, is it possible that the offending CD
drive has either failed or is not properly connected, hardware-wise? I
ask because, normally if there is a configuration issue you would
still be able to play audio cds, due to the fact that the CD rom drive
generally has a direct connection to your sound card, as well as being
plugged in to the motherboard.
