Welll... I only use my tv card just to watch the programs. I use a simple
TV viewer program called TVSet. I also have a another program that
displays the Closed Caption text as it comes out from the channel I'm
watching in a terminal window. Doing all this on my Black Thunder box
running Gentoo dist system and the 2.4.18 kernel that I just installed
this past weekend.

Just wondering but what tv card you got? Me I got a Hauppauge TV card
"WinTV" I belive it's called.
