Thanks, Jean.  Actually, I figured this part out, and it was a
different issue in this case.  POSTFIX doesn't use
/etc/resolv.conf to determine its name servers.  It has its own
resolv.conf, in /var/spool/postfix/etc (as I'm sure you know). 
Once I figured this out, I listed my dns servers in there and
kaboom-a-cha-wangy-wangy!  Or something like that, you know... it
works now.  :)
