I have been using Cadence Capture at work and years ago I used AutoCad for my drawings. Anyone who uses the Cadence products knows that they have extensive features but they are also very expensive. I am more productive drawing the schematics that I do with xcircuit (GNU GPL) than with either the Cadence or Autodesk products. Granted, autocad is not designed for schematic capture and a bit awkward to use for such. Xcircuit does generate nice schematics and the newer versions generate netlists that you can use for spice. Spice 3f5 can be found on disk 3 of Mandrake 8.2! (as well as all over the web) Xcircuit is available at: http://bach.ece.jhu.edu/~tim/programs/xcircuit/ I hear xfig is useful for mechanical drawings but I've not used it.... -- KevinO Matz's Law: A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking.
