Well I'm now back but not with a nice new Linux gateway. I thank all for the
replies as to how to shutdown. I had to learn how to stop jobs not just
suspend them. Once I had stopped all the jobs though I got it to shutdown.
Now I have had my network all hooked up and I have been trying to configure
the NIC cards but again I am lost. As near as I can tell I had an IP address
that was valid for the internet but I don't know how to set up the LAN and
finish it. For now I have to leave it as is and just use my desktop until I
have some more time. Thanks again and I'll keep watching this list for
helpful solutions for my project.   Cliff
