is there a way to tell if a module compiled for version x-uniprocessor kernel is safe with version y-smp kernel? i.e. I have some binary only modules compiled for 2.4.9-12 and Im running 2.4.9-31smp (same kernel version, different redhat version). What kind of diagnostics can I run to make sure this wont cause problems (other than loading the module and hoping I get useful info from the module/kernel)?
