Granted, the vi that comes with proprietary Unices and with the *BSD family hasn't changed (well, the vi that comes with *BSD is actually nvi), there are a multitude of different vi clones out there. Some of the more popular ones are elvis, vile (VI Like Emacs), and my personal favorite, vim.
