Hi George, Playing the role of the devil's advocate here, we know that certification and licensing assures nothing. On a basic level, well, I was hit by a truck six years ago while crossing a street on foot; the driver of that truck was licensed! On a more directly relevant subject, I have seen many many "certified" people (CCNA, CCNP, MCSE...) who also didn't know what they were doing! Darrell Shandrow - Shandrow Communications! Technology consultant/instructor, network/systems administrator! A+, CCNA, Network+! Check out high quality telecommunications services at http://ld.net/?nu7i All the best to coalition forces carrying out Operation Iraqi Freedom! ----- Original Message ----- From: "George Toft" To: Sent: Sunday, May 25, 2003 12:08 AM Subject: Re: (Fwd) [IP] MS Windows Crash Traps Thai Politician in Car > This is a glimmer of the future, and the source of my rant for wanting > software "engineers" (now they call themselves developers) to go through > stringent licensing, just like real engineers and architects. > > We've already seen how a BSOD shutdown a Navy ship's propulsion system. > If this were in battle, the results would be horrific. > > How long will it be before faulty software kills people? > > George > -- > Discover . . . | Free Computer Security Information > <···> Secure | http://www.georgetoft.com/security > Networking | > @http://georgetoft.com | Lock your box - keep your affairs private! > > > AZ Pete wrote: > > > > Thought you guys would like this humorous (albeit worrisome) article. > > > > Peter > > > > ------ Forwarded Message > > From: "Robert J.
