AIX runs on PowerPC-based systems. PowerPC is the chip that Mac uses as
well.

IBM sells RS6000 machines that run AIX. Motorola ( in Tempe ) sells their
own machines that also run AIX.

I've got two of those Mot boxen running GNU/Linux :).
