I have played with this setting using the append function in lilo and had no difference in results from the IDE driver so my guess is even though it is "assuming" 33mhz it is in fact using the correct speed. Man lilo.conf for exact details. :) Brian Smart Guys Computing www.sgcaz.com -----Original Message----- From: plug-discuss-admin@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us [mailto:plug-discuss-admin@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us] On Behalf Of Carl Parrish Sent: Friday, July 04, 2003 11:42 AM To: Plug-discuss Subject: Boot log Okay I have another system admin type question. When I run dmesg I get the following lines. RAMDISK driver initialized: 16 RAM disks of 4096K size 1024 blocksize Uniform Multi-Platform E-IDE driver Revision: 7.00beta3-.2.4 ide: Assuming 33MHz system bus speed for PIO modes; override with idebus=xx I'm assuming that the system bus speed is for my harddrive? I have a Serial ATA / 150 and my motherboard says 333MHz FSB so I'm wondering if I put something together wrong (its all working though so maybe not). if so how do I fix it and if all I have to do is say idebus=333 (or something like that) where do I do this, on boot? -- Carl Parrish (cparrish@carlparrish.com) http://www.carlparrish.com --- Registered Linux User #295761 http://counter.li.org --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss --- Incoming mail is certified Virus Free.
