I'm pretty sure I know why - the BIOS is pre-configured to only understand certain drives (CHS, etc.). I would like to find a BIOS that I can use that will let me have more control over various settings such as the HD type. The ability to boot from CD-ROM would be very nice also, but isn't necessary (right now!).
