What print server are you using? I recommend using CUPS if your not already. It has a web based interface and supports lots of printer connection types (AppSocket, HP JetDirect, http, ipp, usb, parallel, lpd) -- after the printer is setup in CUPS, Samba picks up the config & runs with it.
