I pulled an Adaptec 1460D SCSI PCMCIA card out of my junk box and=20 inserted it into a notebook running RH 8.0. It fails no matter what devic= es I=20 have on the SCSI bus (and termination on the SCSI bus doesn't seem to mat= ter=20 either). /var/log/messages points a finger when I do a hot insert (with SCSI=20 devices connected on the other end, didn't try without): Aug 15 17:06:13 gort cardmgr[567]: socket 1: Adaptec APA-1460 SlimSCSI Aug 15 17:06:14 gort cardmgr[567]: executing: 'modprobe aha152x_cs' Aug 15 17:06:14 gort cardmgr[567]: get dev info on socket 1 failed: No su= ch=20 device Aug 15 17:06:14 gort kernel: aha152x: processing commandline: ok Aug 15 17:06:14 gort kernel: aha152x: BIOS test: passed, detected 1=20 controller(s) Aug 15 17:06:14 gort kernel: aha152x: resetting bus...
