If I may, I will throw another twist into the discussion.

I prefer to bottom post.  I like the information to be in chronological 
discussion order.

Having said that, if you look at some of my postings you will find they 
are top posted.  Why?  Because when I post from my personal account via 
my ISP's web based interface, it quote the original message with a 
simple divider line at the top of the quote.  I would have to type a 
bunch of extra stuff to distingish my reply from the original if I were 
to bottom post since the quoted message has no quote indicators (">") to 
the left of it's text.  So, I top post when using that interface because 
I am too lazy to type quote indicators or other separating marks.

(My complaints/suggestions to the ISP have gone ignored or un-implemented.)

Other than that, I live with what gets posted because LTS (Life's Too 
Short) to worry about such a small thing.
