Okay, here is what happened:
I asked the same question of another group whose reply

http://qce-ga.sourceforge.net/ which sent me here: 
http://www.smcc.demon.nl/webcam/ which which ultimately led me here: 
http://www.smcc.demon.nl/webcam/release.html which is where I found the # PWC 
core modules (source) and PWCX decompressor modules downloads and this link 
http://www.clanlib.org/hermes/ to make it a color cam.

Is this what you needed to know?
