Samba really is pretty easy. I thought of a couple of things I should have mentioned before. When you first install Samba it's mode is 'Off' You want to use SWAT to change that to 'On'. This leads to the thought that before you install it, you might want to check that it isn't already there and just turned off. Again, just try to point your browser to . If Samba-SWAT is installed, that will work even if Samba is turned off. The other thing is that whenever you use SWAT to change the Samba settings, you have to 're-boot' Samba to get the new setting to take effect. You can reboot Samba by rebooting your computer or by becoming root and typing: /bin/kill -HUP -a xinetd in a terminal window. I hope that helps. Just ask if you get stuck.
