Yeah, I think I read in some README a criticism about everyone having agreed (again, I don't know who everyone is) to use /opt and then no one used it. I guess if its a third party precompiled installation mechanism then it should go to /opt. Otherwise if we are doing ./configure; make; make install it ought to go to /usr/local Maybe it never really took off ... and it was only agreed upon buy "that guy." Austin
