In mozilla 1.5 the status bar just says www.microsoft.com > followed by an icon indicating a character that cannot be displayed. > > However, this warning is stupid, because in javascript you can set the > status bar to say anything you like when a link is moused over. No it's not. At least not on my browsers because I've disabled that "functionality" :). It is an issue, though. Wanting to know where links are taking me is one of the reasons I disable a web page's ability to muck with the status bar. Firebird->Tools->Options->Web Features->{Java,JavaScrip}Advanced I only allow "Change images". Mozilla->Edit->Preferences->Advanced->Scripts & Plugins Hmm, good that I looked at this one. Turned off cookie stuff as well :). Naturally JavaScript is turned off for "Mail & Newsgroups". Just noticed th= e Plugins button below. Turned those off as well. Looks like Konqueror 2.2.2 doesn't have these options, but 3.1.3 is available via debian ( still waiting on some dependencies, though ) and 3.1.4 is available via the KDE web site. ciao, der.hans --=20 # https://www.LuftHans.com/ http://www.AZOTO.org/ # When I work, I work hard.
