It has a firewire output and I have a firewire card on my computer, which has Debian installed. When I capture the video on my Win2K computer it drops frames. The only explanation that I have found is that when video is captured to a hard drive running the OS the OS access to the hard drive preempts the video capture, which results in frames being dropped. The recommended solution is to have 2 hard drives and capture the video to the second hard drive. I was wondering if the same problem would occur in a Linux environment. Also, any suggestions for a Video editing special effects program for Linux (Open Source)? I have been using Video Factory for Windows, and it is very easy to use and has more features than I need. I tried Adobe's product (the 30 day free trial) and found it has a steep learning curve and it took too long to get the hang of it. Thanks and Happy New Year!
