That did it. Thanks! For any that want to know what I did exactly I typed sudo shutdown -h +2 which gave a warning for shutdown when I executed the progam then gave me a warning at the 1 minute mark and then gave me a 1 minute halt warning after the shutdown happened. So for those on dial up if you have a big download convert the 2 into the minutes left in the download and it will powerdown after the download. (you might want to add .5 - 1 hour for network errors) On Wednesday 14 January 2004 09:31 am, Bart Garst said: ~ Mike, what happens when you do: ~ `shutdown -h now` ~ and if that doesn't work: ~ `which shutdown` ~ ~ ~ Bart ~ ~ ~ On Wed, 2004-01-14 at 07:54, Michael wrote: ~ > The only other thing I know to do is convert time into seconds and use the ~ > command shutdown -ht "time in seconds" ~ > I found this is man shutdown and also in the "Bible". ~ > ~ > ~ > This Email has been scanned using Norton AntiVirus 2003 Pro. ~ > ----- Original Message ----- ~ > From: "Michael Havens" ~ > To: ~ > Sent: Wednesday, January 14, 2004 7:32 AM ~ > Subject: Re: halt -time ~ > ~ > ~ > > ~ > > Nope, that didn't work.
