Thanks to all for the valuable feedback you gave to my query, I 
greatly appreciate it.

  I think the way for me to go is to build a new box and put Fedora on 
it, then just transfer whatever files I need and wipe this system clean. 
Unfortunately then I will have to put 2000Pro on here, since I need a 
windows box for college, but who knows, maybe I can even work around 
that, one can hope.
