Go to this page with reguard to cdrecord:

It has links to cdrecord-prodvd.  I have not used it but it is supposed 
to record to all DVD media.  It is not Free Software or even Open 
Source.  It is free for non-comercial use but a quick look around did 
not reveal the actual license.

Again, I have not used it but they claim it does it all.
