Mike, When I fooled around with MySQL and PostgreSQL, I was equally impressed with both of them. 1) MySQL seemed faster for selects 2) I liked PostgreSQL's ability to write perl functions right in the database. So, I guess it depends upon what you want to do with it. I would go to both sites, and look at the features, to make a real determination. I have a both O'Reilly books. Alas ...
