My mother in-law lives way-out. She hates dial-up and won't go back to it. She is currently on Cox(not). Her service has been spotty and last week she and her neighbors have had enough. Called Cox to complain and Cox came out and said that they need to run a new cable ( in a new neighborhood 1.5 years old). They cut the old cable disconnecting the whole area and now Cox says that they need FCC clearance to run the new cable and that they can't apply for clearance until Monday. (WTF??) DSL is out since Qwest is the only provider and they're too far. Cox is the only cable outfit in the area. DirecTV is a whopping $599 setup and $59 a month or $99 setup and $99 a month just for Internet access. ISDN is out, too costly, but other than that, are there any other high speed Internet alternatives? --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
