I don't know how you get from this information that
the device should be sda1?  Second, what file type
needs to be entered in the mount command?

I used: mount /dev/sda1 /usbdir and received the error
"you must specify the file system type?

I then entered: "mount /dev/sda1 /usbdir -t msdos" and
received the error /dev/sda1 not a valid block device.
