Kill off X and try 'X -configure'. /etc/init.d/gdm stop /etc/init.d/kdm stop The former is for a GNOME setup and the latter for KDE. 'X -configure' will tell you what to do. I suggest making a backup of your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file, just in case. If you don't know how to use RCS I suggest just tacking the date on the file to the filename. For instance: # ls -l /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3398 2004-08-09 01:30 /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 # cp -p /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.09Aug2004 ciao, der.hans -- # https://www.LuftHans.com/ http://www.AZOTO.org/ # If you're not learning, you're not living. - der.hans --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
