Before you completely obliterate it, amaze your friends and neighbors... You will likely need a Torx set with the very small bits to open the various screws. Carefully open the drive and remove the cover, then replace any circuit boards or plugs you removed. Power up the drive and watch the disk spin and the head wriggle around... if you leave the operating system on, you can see what all those funny little sounds really were. And do save the magnets. Remove them carefully. They are usually made of Neodymium, a rare earth metal... be careful not to break the shiny silver covering -- the exposed grainy gray-brown Neodymium itself has not been proven safe for human contact. (Not unsafe either, but caution advised). \\/ --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
