Yes and no. It's possible to figure it out, but the way to fix driver
wedging is via reboot[1]. I generally only reboot due to power failures,
so driver wedging isn't a common event, in my experience.

[1] Some kernel hackers might be able to figure out a way around it, but
the rest of us, I think, are best served by actually rebooting.
