It is a nice little hack.  I'm doing something similar right now by tunneling 
through SSH to access a remote NX session.  I am not doing the full-on PPP 
over SSH because of this:

If the URL looks familiar to anybody, it's because he's the original author of 
CIPE.  Apparently he starting writing CIPE in the first place because he 
thinks the  PPP over SSH hack is a Very Bad Idea.
