Like an idiot, I installed Mepis over an old version, thinking that I
was re-using the old partitions, but when it was finished, my personal
files were gone. This box is not used for much, so I didn't think I
had anything worth keeping there.  But yup, there were a few files I'd
like to retain.

 (I know, "back up often".)

Is there a utility to recover lost files from "empty" disk space?
