Yes, the modules get loaded and the device files exist.
I really believe that it is a hardware problem,
(I shouldn't have brought the Pinnacle card back) (darn).

I'm just looking for a brand name, or better yet, a model number of a 
firewire card that
someone uses with dvgrab and a miniDV camera.
