Check the cdrecord option -msinfo (which calls mkisofs, I believe) So maybe its just: cdrecord -msinfo From cdrecord's man page: ===================== -multi Allow multi session CDs to be made. This flag needs to be present on all sessions of a multi session disk, except you want to create a session that will be the last session on the media.... ===================== To me, this implies if you create another session w/o using the -multi option, it will close the disk; however, I don't know if you can do this without adding more data. Beware, many dvd drives (including burners) can only read the first session of a multi-session dvd. You may also want to check out growisofs. Something similiar to: growisofs -M /dev/dvd -R -J /more/files This command appends more - check the man pages of both growisofs and mkisofs to learn how close it. I think the easiest solution would be to use K3b. ;) On Sun, 22 May 2005 21:43:49 -0700, Alan Dayley pushed these keyboard buttons: ============================================================================== >I have a DVD-R that dvd+rw-mediainfo still shows as "appendable". I want >to close it, ie. make it "complete". What is the command to do that? > >I'm looking on google but there are many hits. man pages of the usual >tools are not showing what I expect. > >Besides, my rate of asking a question here and then finding the answer on >my own is pretty good. So, just as rain follows after washing your car, >I should find the answer just after I click send on this email! > -- my$.02 --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
