I have a feeling the i801 chipset support would help you. I'm running the ICH6 at work and the ICH* support is done by I believe the i801 chipset support. When compiling the kernel, it details it. I'm running 2.6.12.5 and it's under "Device Drivers" -> "Sound" somewhere. I'm obviously not at work now :) HTH BTW, if your not getting anything with a cat /proc/pci, the (legacy) proc filesystem support is not compiled into the kernel. At any rate, lspci is all you really need. --Dan On 11/5/05, Dragos Neagu wrote: > On 11/5/05, Stuart Hemm wrote: > > Try: > > sudo gst-register-0.8 > > it went and installed plugins and features, my last 2 lines were: > Rebuilding user_registry (/root/.gstreamer-0.8/registry.xml) ... > Loaded 149 plugins with 296 features. > > I went ahead and did the same thing ot the user account (as well as > sudo) rebooted, but still the same thing. > > On 11/5/05, Dennis Kibbe wrote: > > Look at the Alsamixer man page and start alsamixer with the -c option. That is why so many fail to assert rights to which they are perfectly entitled - because a right is a kind of power but they are too lazy or too cowardly to exercise it. The virtues which cloak these faults are called patience and forbearance.
