I have been using this distro for about 2 months now and have been pleased with it immensely. Been around Debian/derivatives for 4 years now and placed Lenny on this laptop that I got in July. However, my sound, wifi and encrypted dvds weren't working. Host/Kernel/OS "vampirepenguin" running Linux 2.6.23.1-slh-smp-32 i686 [ sidux 2007-03.1 - Γαια - kde-full - (200708151444) ] CPU Info (1) Genuine Intel T2060 @ 1024 KB cache flags( sse sse2 nx pni ) clocked at [ 1600.000 MHz ] (2) Genuine Intel T2060 @ 1024 KB cache flags( sse sse2 nx pni ) clocked at [ 1600.000 MHz ] Videocard Intel Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller X.Org 1.4-3 [ 1024x768 ] Network cards Broadcom BCM94311MCG wlan mini-PCI -- aka. BCM43xx-fwcutter is depracated and the new package b43-fwcutter along with support from the .23 kernel also has fixed this problem. Unbeknownest to me my dvd -- Matshita 850UJ -- did not have a region set on it from the manufacturer so even with the codecs installed my dvds wouldn't play. I downloaded a nifty little proggie called regionset and changed the open format to US/Canada region 1 and presto dvds now worked! So again happy bday to Sidux . . . VampirePenguin wildly tosses out fishie pops, burnt grilled cheese sammies, m&ms and sidux cds to the screaming crowds!!
