Well... I am even more confused now. As usual, every time I get cocky and look myself in the mirror to brag: "I *AM* really learning this crap", someone drops an anvil in my foot... When I am wearing sandals! RUINS THE PINK ACRYLICS IN MY TOENAILS!!! Ah, well... Anyhow, after I sorted out that the stupid KDM was starting a (missing) terminal trying to boot "failsafe" (which I didn't even know existed), then I could not login because (I believe) the PAM error. However, because the puter is remote, I run x11vnc referencing the -auth cookie so I can bring up the login prompt. Well, after I frustrated gave it up at night, my father got up in the morning and went ahead on his merry way, so I believe that it was an x11vnc issue, which annoys me, because I may need it in the future... As for: >> You "seemingly" stepped out on an edge when you helped me with my No sweat, I have found lottsa nice people willing to stick an arm and a leg for me for no reason, and no guaranties. Pay it forward... :) ET GK writes: > Hey E. > > PAM bit ya huh. Ain't it the sh*t?
