From: Lisa Kachold <lisakachold@obnosis.com> > mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom > ls -al /mnt/cdrom This will fail miserably on blanks, audio CDs, VCDs, SVCDs, and anything that's not a relatively normal data CD. (Audio CDs *can* be mounted if you apply the cdfs patch to the kernel, but almost nobody does that.) What's more, it'll give you the same mostly-useless error message for all of those cases. Looking at the TOC is a better general solution since it'll tell you something useful if you have something that's got a less-common format. -- Matt G / Dances With Crows The Crow202 Blog: http://crow202.org/wordpress/ There is no Darkness in Eternity/But only Light too dim for us to see --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
