I used to work for a company and people would email them all the time. Way back ( 4 years ago), I remember there being a Python scrip that would actually validate if the number you put in it was a valid (not actual) credit card number. This may prove useful in eliminating some of the scrubbing of non-credit card numbers. I will have to see if it is still out on Google somewhere.
