I've also found that the "locate" package makes my life a lot easier. It periodically creates a database of your file structure–the frequency of which you define with a cron job–such that it is then able to quickly search the DB and return a result. On Ubuntu, there's a basic "locate" package, but it also appears there's "plocate" (Debian-based distros) and "mlocate" (RHEL-based distros) packages as well. The latter two (whichever is appropriate) claim significantly improved performance. Here's a decent guide on how to install and use it: https://phoenixnap.com/kb/locate-command-in-linux --- Scott Lopez Web: https://bio.neteng.pro Jan 1, 2025 12:00:21 PM plug-discuss-request_at_lists_phxlinux_org_kchkig@simplelogin.co: > Send PLUG-discuss mailing list submissions to >     plug-discuss@lists.phxlinux.org > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit >     https://lists.phxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to >     plug-discuss-request@lists.phxlinux.org > > You can reach the person managing the list at >     plug-discuss-owner@lists.phxlinux.org > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > than "Re: Contents of PLUG-discuss digest..." > Today's Topics: > >    1.
