Please read the entire message for location and time. We will NOT be meeting in the usual location. This month der.hans will be presenting his SCaLE talk: High Availability Clustering with Corosync and DRBD Corosync and DRBD can be used to add high availability clustering for services that don't support it. Some services might internally support clustering or failover, but be dependent on components that don't. Corosync is a framework for reliable intra-cluster communication. Using corosync configuration, you can manage resources such as IP addresses, filesystems and services to failover to a secondary server. Example services include web servers, databases and message brokers. The presentation will cover basic corosync configuration for resource control and DRBD configuration for failover filesystems. MySQL will be used as an example service for the failover configuration. IMPORTANT NOTE, READ THIS We lost our room at MCC and have to move. They are turning our old room into offices. For this month only we will be meeting in a different room at MCC. After this month we will pick a new location, so stay tuned to details on that. On Thursday 2/14 at 7pm we will meet at MCC in room BP1S (see the attached map). If you have any ideas about a permanent place where we can meet in the future please send them to me off list. We are giving preference to Tempe locations or very near Tempe as we would like to keep it fairly central to the valley, but we can't get too picky since we need it to be donated space. Also consider availability of public transportation that leaves late, the amount of parking, how late we can stay etc, etc We get 25 to 30 people on a regular basis and we surge to 40 or 50 quite often so we'll need a room that can hold that.
