Hi Rusty,

The name seems familiar.  Did he go to ASU?  Try the alumni association.

If he has a ham license (not many people do) you might be able to find him among the FCC roles.  (I found a childhood friend there.)

If he is a veteran, you might be able to locate him through va.gov.  I haven't used this but it seems like I could.

I still have some time left on my phonedetective.com and have located a number of people using this (including some I don't want to talk to!)  If you want I can do a search for you.  This site needs some info that you may know about him like his age, where he has lived and where he might live (in the U.S.), names of close relatives,
and so on.  Try it yourself, it doesn't cost much.

Anyway,
Good Luck.

Best Regards, (73)

Sorry to do what might be considered spam, but I have a friend of the name Mike Battle who I’ve lost track of for a LONG time.

Every once in a while I try emailing the last known email address for him…

He was greatly in to Linux, so I’m hoping he’s on the list or someone here knows what (if anything) has happened to him.

Please reply to me, not the list.

Thanks, and we now return you to your regularly-scheduled PLUG content J

Actually, I can say something about our last query:

Not only is whois useful, but you might try ‘dig’ if you’re more interested in the network aspects of the domain:

You  may have to install whois - it wasn’t in my more-or-less standard install of Linux Mint Mate.
