Cedega only works for a small handfull of titles. It doesn't work at
all or only very poorly for the vast majority of titles out there. If
you like one of the Transgaming "supported" titles then it might be
worth the money to you. I personally play World of Warcraft and
Warcraft III with Cedega and both run just as they do in Windows (with
a little slowdown here and there). It was worth the $15 minimum for me
to get those two games working under Linux. Other games that work are
listed in the games database at the transgaming.org site. Don't be
surprised if what you want to play doesn't work though. Most of the
games have flaws that make them unplayable (like an invisible cursor or
bad framerate).
Today there was a conversation about using Cedega to play DX games on
linux. Now I know the site for transgaming shows that they can run
just about any DX/OpenGL game (with a few notable exceptions, ie X2).
However a friend of mine said they had 3ghz system with 1gb of ram,
and 6800GT (nvidia, for those that might not know). He complained that
in the game of Anarchy Online (MMORPG) he could only get 10fps..
Straight up I think it is a lack of running the native driver from
nvidias site, but I was wondering if any others on this list have had
experience with this, and their impressions of Cedega, and is it worth
the cost.
