- Name: Patrick C.
- Nickname(s): Online, "pxc". Sometimes minimum character requirements keep me from using just "pxc," though.
- Home location: Arizona
- Profession: Student
- Computer(s): Cheap P4 board with some upgrades. 3.2 GHz proc, 2GB RAM, Nvidia 7600 GS AGP. Old IBM keyboard (no Windows key!) is a must.
- Favorite Linux distro: Gentoo/Sabayon
- Favorite Linux apps: Konqueror, Pidgin, Amarok
- Percent of computer time using Linux: 90% (school is all Windows)
- How and when did you start using Linux? I inherited a laptop my dad's work was throwing away. It had a messed up BIOS with bad APM that made Windows almost useless (had to be plugged in to AC at all times with Windows).
- What was your first computer? I was too little to remember my very first, but the first computer I remember being present for the purchase of was a Racer 350.
- What additional apps do you most want to learn how to use? GCC/G++. ;-)
- What would be your favorite Linux "banner" slogan?
- Where and when were you born? Arizona, 1991.
- What University/school(s) did you attend? I'm still in high school, but I've taken a few classes at GCC, PVCC, and DeVry, as well as some dual-credit courses with Estrella Mountain.
- What is your marital & family status? Positive.
- How does your family cope with living with a Linux enthusiast? Barely.
- What is the first hour of your day like? I don't know. I can never quite remember it.
- What are your most indispensable possessions and why? My music collection and my voice. I get antsy if I haven't listened to music or sang in a while.
- Of the places you've lived or visited, what is your favorite? Berwyn, IL. I love the family I have there, and I like Chicago, too.
- What would you like to do more of if you had the time? Write. Creative writing and code.
- What do you see from your window? Too much light to go back to sleep or too little to go outside. Never works out quite right.
- If you could take 3 people on a trip, who would you take and why? My friend Andy, because he'd be good conversation, my cousin Eileen because she's fun, and my friend Jason, because he's fun in the same way as Eileen with me.
- What are your 3 most favorite url's? my sig + xkcd.com
- What is your favorite quote? "If someone hadn't reinvented the wheel at least once, we'd all be riding on round stones." Just something I read by some guy on Slashdot, but I really like it.
