As it turned out, it was a software (Linux) RAID using XFS. This is why I don&#39;t use hardware raid, and I don&#39;t use raid 5.<br>
<br>
Some time ago I managed to recover a 3-drive raid-5 array with 2<br>
degraded drives. Not fun. That was software raid, fortunately.<br>
