thanks Alan and Brian. I am sure glad someone responded with your emails inline. For some reason I didn't get your messages. I know that I didn't block you.... I don't block people.... and why would I block someone I actually know? Maybe I did so accidently. (can you do that with gmail?) There we go... figured that one out. If you mark something as spam everything else from that sender is marked as spam. Not very good  but that's life! Yes I know how to add the 'not spam' filter.

Thank you Brian.  You're absolutely right.  Michael keep asking your questions.  If somebody doesn't like it, they can unsubscribe from the list.  That way they wouldn't have to see them.  If this doesn't make them happy, there's a little town in Michigan they can go to.  It's about 50 miles west northwest of Detroit.  For politeness sake I'll not mention the name here.

Thanks Alan, I completely agree.

If we all just sat around waiting to ask questions that couldn't be answered with a google search, this list would be totally dead.

We are all friends here, and we know each others personalities, and it can be a lot easier to ask a friend that knows how to explain a problem than it can be to find the answer that may be broken across a bunch of different places.  Not to mention dig past all the outdated info that is out there.

Michael has done something very beneficial for this email list.  His
sometimes simple and sometimes very basic questions have triggered a LOT
of useful information that is good for Linux beginners.  And sometimes
the threads he starts go pretty deep and interesting, with scripts and
other useful examples.

If you don't want to read his questions, that is fine.  I suggest that
we be careful about being harsh to those less experienced than you. They
often bring value by making knowledge visible as their questions draw it
out of us.

I also suggest that some people are more comfortable with asking people
things instead of asking The Google. That is a personality trait, not a
sign of ignorance or a lack of knowing how to use a tool.

Seriously dude. Do you actually know how to troubleshoot
