There is a small slider switch on the side of the card. One position makes the card read only. It must have been moved from the other setting. Pull out the card and try again after sliding the switch to the read/write position.

Today I bought an 8 gig microSD. When I tried to put some music on it, I got a READ ONLY message.
I opened up a terminal and typed 'sudo chmod 755 microsd' and got another READ ONLY message.
Then I tried 'sudo chown' and recieved the same READ ONLY message.
any ideas??
